8/21/13, 2:30 p.m.Yellowstone National Park Fire Update:

Alum Fire: This fire has formed two heads.  The east section, towards the road, is showing moderate activity with mainly ground burning and no torching.  The main body is showing moderate activity with no appreciable movement towards the Fishing Bridge/Lake Village area.  When actively burning, the Alum Fire can produce a tall smoke column visible for several miles. There is an ongoing potential for the temporary closure of the road linking Fishing Bridge Junction and Canyon Village.  The latest road status information is available 24-hours a day by calling 307-344-2117.
