The short answer is no: currently, it's really not that smoky in the park. There is one spot on Hwy 89 between Canyon Village and the Lake area where the smoke is sitting a little bit, and you can check out the webcams we've linked to for real time updates. The webcams that show the Druid Fire and the Alum Fire do show some smoke, but we haven't seen or heard of visitors being affected in popular areas.
If you have a medical condition that makes you sensitive to smoke, check in with your doctor about what steps you can take to protect yourself. You can also keep checking back in with this blog--we'll let you know if anything changes.

Webcams do not appear to be working - Mt Washburn south is black and Mt Washburn north is dated August 21
ReplyDeleteThanks for the heads up! Park folks are working on getting those back up.
DeleteIt would be very helpful to see air quality information on a daily basis.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment! We've posted a couple of links on the right side of the blog with information about local air quality. We'll also keep writing about the air quality in the park as long as people have questions about it. Check out our air quality post from today!
